Upcoming Events – Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, where each year advocates, survivors, allies, and educators aim to start conversations about what domestic violence is, it’s impact on survivors, and everyone’s role in prevention looks like. The SHAPE Office is collaborating with many campus departments and student organizers to engage in these conversations and highlight supportive resources this October. We hope you’ll join us on this journey to learn about resources, raise awareness, and imagine what building a world where everyone has access to loving, meaningful relationships if they so choose.

For white people in particular, self-care, does not mean disengaging. It involves engaging deeply and reflecting on how best to be engaging in anti-racist work daily. For BIPOC folks, self-care is a survival strategy in a world structured to center white mental health.
